Anyone care to share whats the performance of your car? A video of 0-100km, 0-400m (+ quarter mile trap) - 200kmh, would be useful. (a camera focused on the meter guages).

Surprised

Ask strike to make video la... just now his Lancer with only open pod + Wai Heng exhaust = 147BHP on-engine. After his new mod, hopefully can reach 160BHP on-engine.

Just to add, make sure to reset the odometer to 0.0.

I'll be looking at the 400m mark speed and time.... Very Happy

I think more relevant would be to check 90-140km/h times.

ZTH or 0-400m (fr standstill) really not that relevant except for arranged drag.

What should be interesting would be real-life scanarios i.e. when you are cruising at 90km/h and then a car overtake you and you decided to tekan. Mind you, when you are cruising in D (or even in SM at 6th), to suddenly go from 90-120 is not as fast (or as easy) as you want/wish it to be.

But then, of coz, if you mod your car to get the fastest ZTH or arranged short drag, then of coz OK la. But for me, I think real life scenarios more relevant.

I post this coz back when I still had my Unichip and water-methanol, I remember I gave a good fight to a 325i on NSE (going to Senawang). My car not very good at drag from standstill since my car quite heavy (lotsa sound-proofing, subwoofer) but when suddenly tekan while cruising my car is pretty good (I think so la). Only bad thing is that my car very de sampan... I never change suspension lo.

Yes, I agree. In the case of your example, ie. the 325i, I really do not bother with this car, because the conclusion is Wink

However, once this car breaches the 240kmh, then its a different story, and I will salute it. cheers

No need drag with 325i, it will be either a close fight with our LGT or the 325i will be slightly ahead.

It is very heavy when stock. Cannot compare.

But when "going for it" on the highway, different story when compare stock vs stock. My car then already modded... I dunno what that 325 had but looks normal from outside... inside = i dunno lo.

Donny, to be fair, your Lancer damn light coz modded and got so many things taken out of your car to make it light... I assume your comment is based on your modded Lancer and not stock Lancer.

This topic started out as not about high speed (i.e. your 240 comment, Donny) but about acceleration. My point is about what range of acceleration is important.

Yes, there's a gadget but I have forgotten the name. Plugs into ciggie lighter socket. Gives you lots of info including ZTH.

Just to be sure that everyone is on the same track, I suggest that we follow the American's way on doing these times. Not to say that they are correct in any way, its to make sure that we can have a stardard to follow.

What they do is :-

1) Depress brake pedal with (left foot)
2) Engage transmission (for automatics)
3) Depress the accelerator
4) When the rev (tachometer) is going to reach 2000rpm, release brake pedal
5) Car starts to move @ 2000rpm

I believe that they choose these method to

1) Eliminate MAP flat spot
2) Eliminate differences in driver's skill.

Look at these videos here...

https://www.youtube.com/user/mpgomatic?feature=chclk#g/a

I believe this is how edmund inside Line does it too.

Yeah, that's the launch technique.

But it hurts your car, so don't do it too often Smile
