Go and ask your service center to do it. They will run diagnostics and the CVT will return an index based on a sensor that monitors the CVT. I think the index is a life expectancy index figure.

When I did my 40,000km service a few months ago, my Lancer returned a figure of 14,000 (or something close like that) and the service center sifu said "You don't use the Techtronic much, do you? Your CVT is in very good condition".

Tomorrow will be doing 50,000km service (i.e. last free service) and will ask service center to again do diag and check CVT condition. I believe full diagnostic check should be free while free service lasts. I mean, I have always requested for full diagnostics every time I service my Lancer and it never cost me a cent. But maybe full diag check will cost $ after last free service.

Actually, that figure measures the degradation of the CVT fluid. On average, every 10,000km gives a figure of 5,000.

Reverend, in your case, 14,000 actually means that your CVT fluid has been going for about 28,000km. If you have done 40,000km and you got a figure of 14,000, it show that you have taken care of your CVT.

Techtronic is basically the CVT "sports mode" shifter i.e. using the paddles to set predetermined gear ratios.

Diag is free as long as your warranty is still valid (i.e. 100,000km or 5 years, whichever earlier). After that, it costs RM120 (full diag, not just CVT) or so (depending on which SC you go).
