does port polish really increases HP and torque? is there much gain by increasing compression ratio? is there any long term effect for this modification?

im sure Port Polish will increase HP & torque.

but im not sure about the long term effect in combustion chamber & head.

but.. lets try bro..

Elan, it would help in terms of smoothness of power delivery.

it wouldnt justify your cost by having it.

on street use, u can block by a bycycle for 1 sec. but in track, 1 sec = near 5 cars distance.

wat i trying to say, people do this do optimize the engine performance delivery, most useful on track to shorten the 0.0X sec.

for us street guys, really not worth to do.

Like GreyGT said, port polish feel is like you put in LCP.

Try twin intakes instead, short intake (open pod with built in turbo electric fan). Long intake for more air (esp. when turbo fan become bottle neck).

Good for low/mid. Maybe 10whp extra at the wheels.

thks for the replies, yup i heard port polish doesnt help much, but how bout increasing compression ratio.. any effect on long term? a tuner said that increasing compression ratio may gain more power than port polish. he advised me to do both, will give good result (10 to 15% power increase).

go for it bro.

good for your engine power delivery.

Port and polish (PnP) should give nice feeling, maybe a little hp and torque increase but not much for our Lancer, I think.

Having higher compression ratio would give more power than PnP.

But there is really only so much power you can add on to our Lancer before the CVT starts complaining. I'm guessing that if the torque is close to 230-250Nm, the CVT's lifespan will reduce faster. Last time I dyno'd Stinger, its torque was about 200Nm... I already hesitate to increase it.

But it's your car Smile

someone pls help me to calculate, how much need to cut/shorten the cylinder head to get 11:0 compression ratio. our stock compression ratio is: 10:1
bore: 86mm, stroke:86mm

bro elan, dun think too much. later will headache.

i heard Boostzone familiar in doing PnP work and upgrading compression ratio in
combustion chamber.

they will modify piston stroke cycle between BDC to TDC in every each cylinder.

if u do compression, better do PnP as well in one short bro..

correction bro, piston stroke will be nothing changes. increasing compression means using thin metal gasket or lathe the cylinder head.

hmm done this on my old ride, best combination is pnp + hi compression ratio + higher lift cams. then u feel the effect. if only do either 1 of them barely feel any diff. and i read somewhere that high compression engine work best with high octane fuel.

yes u r rite bro, higher compression engine needs higher octane for maximum power..
