Which LCD TV is the best currently? Or LED better?

I'm thinking of the 47 to 52 or maybe 55 inch variants.

Which brand is the best ie. the latest functions? Of course, it has to be HD capable.

Price is of no concern.

LED nothing special, just better black lighting....

projector cannot since i dont have much space...the room is not long enuff...

samsung is good nonetheless. but my eyes told me, the color simply too bright and the contrast simply too great. thus not for me. i tried to stare at it for like 20 mins, i felt real tired in my eyes after that.

no matter how, i'm a loyal Sharp supporter. althoiugh sony did produce something good indeed

I have compared some LCDs and in terms of picture quality, IMHO Sony and Sharp are among the better ones.

My parents house is using sharp and mine sony, and of coz i'll say mine better.. hehehehe.

As for LED, only managed to see from retailers who are playing their demo scenes. Can't tell for now...

Samsung LED 55" series 7 la... if got more moolah... series 8"... LED backlit blacker black and up to 40% more energy efficient... so.. the tv will emit less heat...

wish money is no object for me too...

Actually, the 100/200Mhz is only useful if you watch football. Otherwise, its better to turn it off.

Might be buying a new one to replace the aging Panny 42" plasma in the living room. Dunno what size, what model or what budget however

I discussed with stupid Daniel and he said Samsung Series 5 50" LCD is about RM5699 (negotiable summore) at Harvey Norman. Wanted to go on Monday already but a contractor turned up unexpectedly at my house to do a job for me.

Samsung Series 5 50" LCD ok anot? If OK, I think this weekend I will buy (while doing CNY shopping).

BTW Ason, when Daniel agreed to check for me the price of the Samsung at Harvey Norman, I asked Lay Keng on FB to remind him to check for me when they go shopping. You know what Lay Keng replied? She said "Daniel said you wanna buy a bigger size one than ours... you don't challenge him lar...".

Anyway, 5 series is 50000:1 contrast ratio, not dynamic and @50Hz (which is good since you don't need 200Hz unless watching football).

The pricing I have is :-

Samsung LA46B650 - RM6250 (+ free wireless mouse) 70000:1 contrast ratio
Samsung LA46B530 - RM5250

IIRC, there is a promotional catalog, and there is a free 22" LCD that comes with the Series 5. If you dont need the 22" (worth RM1299), you could knock it off from the price of RM5250 to RM4600 (trade in RM650 for the 22" LCD). I don't think HN can match that price.

And if both of us buy, can get further price reduction.

Maybe after some more negotation, can Get RM9599???

The Samsung 55" Series7 LED is fantabulous when watching Bluray/good quality DVD movies and playing PS3 games using HDMI. The quality really is awesome.

However, it does not have S-Video input (one of my complaints, mainly for connecting Astro), it uses a 3.5mm mini-jack for HT speaker output (IOW, no optical output), the in-built speakers are terrible (but understandable since the TV is so thin... but which I'm not really complaining since I'm using the mini-jack audio-out)...

The one I have is 100MHz. Series8 = 200MHz = RM3000 more... and not worth it IMO. I haven't really tested the on/off using 100MHz (the TV even has a splitscreen demo) coz really damn 7 busy these past coupla weeks...

i heard LED is not the real LED... seen the plasma latest from pana... 33/35k though

I recently realised the normally white background is showing light green or pinkish on my LCD LG tv especially when watchin Astro. Yet to try on ori DVD disc though.

Is there a cause for concern or is the settings just wrong.

Now the LCD prices dropping like mad.

3D TV will depend on source, right? I think 3D source/programs won't take off so soon la, better wait a bit until there are more 3D programs first, then the 3D TVs will get better and cheaper I think.

In the meantime, I am enjoying my LCD LED
